    Question exhaust work

    hey everybody i've got an 88 camaro iroc-z with a 305 going to drop in a 383 stroker is there a way i can do true duals need to talk to somebody that has done it on a third gen camaro thanks

    I asked my friend who is also a Camaro nut and an ASE certified mechanic this question and his response is (I didn't remember that you were putting in a Stroker when I asked him):

    You can put true duals on, any decent custom exhaust shop can fabricate something. Unless the car has a Heck of a motor in it 400+ horse, you are going to actually lose power over a decent catback. Due to cylinder scavenging, you can make more power with a single pipe to the muffler. Hence the reason they put a x pipe or a h pipe in place in a true dual setup. If you are going to do true duals, you really need to go to a set of long tube headers first, and then work off of them. Honestly, not worth the money, I'd go with a nice catback exhaust, such as a flowmaster, or a hooker setup.
