    Default R12 Hose Replacement

I have an 83 Camaro that was originally non-AC equipped. I installed used factory AC components and now have an operating system. I am using an R12 replacement refrigerant.

The only part that I couldn't find as an exact match was the hose manifold assembly. My engine is an H.O. that requires different hoses that can't be found at my auto parts store. Hoses off a regular Camaro work but can't be routed properly. I have located the correct hose ends and fittings. Can new hoses be re-crimped back on the fittings? Somebody told me that this wasn't possible anymore because the only hoses available are the barrier type which will not fit the old style fitting.

If that's the case, how are replacement hose constructed? Do they have different fittings to mate with the barrier hoses?

    Thanks!

I bet a new hose can be crimped to an old fitting. I can't imagine why not.
